Follow your dreams

Happy hump day everyone! I have just a quick post today, sharing a page that I did a couple days ago using the mood board at Black With 2. The striking color combo just grabbed my attention and I had to play along.
I chose to use some older papers from the "Beautiful Dreamer"collection by Glitz. I think the black background really makes the colors more vibrant so they just pop right off the page.
And here's the Feb. mood board
Thanks so much for dropping by and letting me share with you! Have a wonderful day!

You are loved

Happy Monday morning all! It's time for a new sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy to start your week off. And I have my inspiration page to share with you today.
I used papers from Close Knit by Crate paper and Yes Please from American Crafts. The fabric polaroid frame is Crate Paper as well. The veneer butterflies are by Recollections. The flair is Two Peas. And the sequins are from my stash. Aren't the little flower ones cute? I found them in the very back of one of my sticker drawers the other day. I've had them for years and I'm not sure where they came from. It's amazing what you find when you attempt to reorganize. I'm just glad I finally put them to use.
And here's the fabulous sketch  designed by Lanette Erickson
Now it's your turn so grab your scrappy supplies and join us! I can't wait to see your creations! Hope you have an awesome day!

You are my favorite

Hello all! Hope you're having a great week so far. I finally got a minute to play with a couple challenge sites this week. It feels really good to just play around and not worry about assignments once in awhile doesn't it? Here's one of the pages that I was able to create and use up some more of my older stash.

For this page I used "Yours Truly" and "Be Mine" collections from E.P. I was inspired by the color challenge #25 at S.W.A.T.  which was black & white with one other color. I chose to use pink. And the Lasting Memories challenge #178 "love is in the air" using the word love and something with wings. I chose butterflies for my wings.
And even though it's not my week at Let's Get Sketchy I loved this week's sketch, so I used it as a basis for my page design.
Thanks for popping in! Have an awesome day!

Thank you

Hi there everyone! Up on the Friday the Thirteenth blog today I have a "Thank you" card that I created using their papers, sooo I thought I'd share it here as well.  I'm starting to get the hang of cardmaking a bit, but now I've got to figure out how to get better photos of the darn things. lol
I used papers from the "Summer in the garden" collection. I really love these colors together, don't you? You can find the collections here.

Thanks for stopping in! Have a wonderful day!

A couple "just because" cards

Hello there all! I have a couple cards to share that I have posted up on the Friday the Thirteenth blog right now. I like to keep a few cards on hand "just in case" so I have started making a small collection. In the past I haven't been much of a card maker, but I have found the selections at the stores lacking and I really like the personal touch of homemade cards. The first card I have to share is one that I've made for my Grandmother. She lives over 600 miles away and I only get to see her twice a year, so I like to send her cards with little notes and photos inside.
I used the "Magical Moments" collection and you can find it here
And the second one I created is just a simple "I love you" card.
For this card I mixed papers from the "Ladies Night" and "Good to know" collections found here.
Thanks for dropping in! Have a wonderful day!

He still gives me butterflies

Good morning all! Here we are into the second week of February already. I have a feeling this month is going to fly by as quickly as last month seemed to. I don't know about you, but I'm over winter and more than ready for warmer weather to get here. Anyhoo we have a brand new sketch that has gone live at Let's Get Sketchy, and I have my interpretation to share with you.
Let me start by saying yes it's a sad but true fact that I've had these Cosmo Cricket papers lost in my stash for almost seven years. I had purchased them back when I was in my "someday" mode. I'd buy supplies hoping that I'd get a chance to use them sooner rather than later, but unfortunately I just wasn't able to find the time. Now that I've found the time I've been slowly working through all my old stash with a use or purge philosophy. When I seen this week's sketch this page popped into mind immediately. Our anniversary is this Friday so I wanted to do a page for us.
Here is this week's beautiful sketch designed by Jenessa Franco
Thanks for dropping in! I truly appreciate your time and lovely comments! Have an awesome week!

A flower blooms once

Happy Tuesday morning everyone! It's time for a new sketch reveal at Stick It Down. So, today I have my DT inspiration page to share with you.

I used papers from the Dear Lizzy "Lucky Charm" collection. The pearl brands are from Spare Parts. I just snipped the prongs off and adhered them with my hot glue gun. The flowers, dainty lace ribbon, and washi are from my stash. To get the hexagons from the sketch I applied some Liquitex modeling paste using a Heidi Swapp stencil, and just went around the background randomly. Then followed up with a few splatters of acrylic paint in Seafoam Mist, and finishing it off with my stamped title.
And here's our new sketch
Now it's your turn, so go grab your crafty supplies and join us! You can link your projects here. I hope you have a wonderful day =)

My Valentine

Good Morning! The Colorful Creations challenge for Feb. 1st has been revealed.
For this challenge, we would like you to use the inspiration photo below and create your page. You can be inspired by the colors, hearts, title, etc... whatever inspires you from this photo.
I was inspired by pretty much everything about the photo, but I started off with the design, hearts, and theme.
I used papers from the Love Notes collection by Crate Paper. And as a special touch I used two heart doilies under my photo. My husband and I were married on Valentine's Day, and the doilies are actually from our wedding reception many moons ago. The scrapbooker in me saved a handful of them "just incase" and now I finally used a couple. I distressed my layers, then did some stamping on the background and journaling card. The word strips are adhered using pop dots for more dimension and to help them stand-out just a bit.
Thanks so much for stopping in! I hope that I've inspired you in some small way, and if you get the chance to join us you have until Feb. 14th to link your page here. I'm really looking forward to seeing your creations. Hope you have an awesome weekend!
